Whoooo's that calling at night? Hoots, toots, whinnies and even some whistles are made by our local owl species. On this owl prowl, we will listen for and try to see as many different owls as possible. If we are lucky, we may get to hear/see Great Horned, Eastern Screech, Barred and Barn Owls. Of course, we will hope for calm and clear weather as windy conditions can make finding owls very difficult!

TROT Horse Show Nov 17, 2018 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM — FENCE Equestrian Side,

Therapeutic Riding of Tryon will host its Annual Student Horse Show. The purpose of this horse show is to give all 25 students the opportunity to showcase their skills and accomplishments – and to have fun doing it! Barbara DiPalma will judge this year’s competition and each student will participate in two classes, equitation and trail. Ribbons will be awarded in each class. Ring B at FENCE will be the competition arena unless there is bad weather. In case of rain, the competition will be moved to the covered arena.

For the safety of the horses and humans, FENCE has opted to reschedule the Hunter Pace. Our fields and trails are too wet with a lot more rain to come! We hope to see everyone in February for the rain date.

Irene heckel is returning to FENCE to teach this wonderful holiday class. No experience is necessary. This class is $67 per person. All supplies are included in the class fee. Space is limited- call FENCE at 828-859-9021 to register. Come and create a snowman for the holidays. Learn to use your felting needle to create something great for the holidays – either for yourself or gift giving. Either way, it is a fun class to learn in.

Join us at FENCE in the great room for a wonderful musical performance by Blissing Trio. Join us in celebrating the holiday season as the Trio performs Christmas music both sacred and secular. This concert is free and open to all ages. Following the performance refreshments will be served. This month's theme is "Animals in the Winter..." Kids Nature Club is offered free and is open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for Kids Nature Club but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails. Ideal for children ages 5-12.

Back by popular demand, Irene Heckel will teach a needle felted "painting" class. Create a close to the heart piece of artwork. Irene will teach the skills and techniques to create a lovely felted painting of your pet.
