Understanding Dementia & Alzheimer's
This presentation will explore the differences between dementia and Alzheimer's disease. We will talk about the different stages and risk factors, as well as updates on the most current research and FDA-approved treatments. Lastly, we will provide information on the many resources available from the Alzheimer's Association.

Dr. Cindy Keehn is founder of “Engaging Dementia Effectively” which provides teaching, training and consulting services around western NC to facilities and families. Cindy is a licensed PT, with her Doctorate in PT, a Certified Dementia Practitioner® and Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional®. She is also trained under Teepa Snow’s organization, Positive Approach to Care®, and Certified as an Independent Trainer, Consultant, and Advanced Consultant. She is also a Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association local Mountain Region.
