Invasive talk
We all love the climate in the Carolina foothills and unfortunately so do most of our most serious invasive plants. Plants such as Tree of Heaven, Kudzu, Oriental Bittersweet, Wisteria, and Miscanthus grass are all exotic or non-native plants that when left unchecked become serious weeds that are extremely difficult to control.

Mushroom log inoculation class-Postponed
Join Nolan Just at FENCE for a mushroom log inoculation class. Each participant will take home an inoculated log to grow their own Shiitake mushrooms at home! $15 per person.

Kid's Nature Club
The activities offered will be both fun and educational aimed to engage children between the ages of 5 and 12. The “Kids Nature Club” will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails.

Walk in the Woods
Winter is a wonderful time to explore the woods at FENCE. Come enjoy a walk during this special time of year while discovering the amazing ways local animals and plants survive in the cold winter. Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. This guided walk is free and open to the public.
