Summer Bird Hike with Aaron Steed Aug 09, 2018 from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM — FENCE Center,

International bird guide, Aaron Steed, will lead a Summer Bird walk on the FENCE property. This guided walk is appropriate for birders of all skill levels. Please remember to bring along comfortable walking shoes, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them.

Mushroom Hike with Charlotte Caplan Aug 14, 2018 from 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM — FENCE Center,

Caplan, will lead a guided mushroom hike at FENCE. Whether you are an experienced mushroom hunter or you are just interested in learning more about the mushroom world, this should be a fun and educational hike for all who attend! If people want to collect specimens to look at more closely, they should bring a basket and a folding pocket knife.

Needle Felting Class Aug 18, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM — FENCE Center,

Get artsy at FENCE with a needle felted “painting” class. Talented fiber artist, Irene Heckel, will lead the class in creating a beautiful felted painting from the pet picture of their choice. This class has limited space so please call FENCE to register. There is a $60 fee for this class-all supplies are included with the fee.

Family Concert with Jim Avett Aug 19, 2018 from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM — FENCE Center,

This is sure to be a musical performance that is not to be missed. Avett’s shows are a combination of beloved country tunes, his original ballads, and the stories he tells to introduce them. Following the performance refreshments will be provided.

Members Stan Widener on soprano and alto, Gary Livingston on alto, Dave Johnson on tenor and Jim Litzie on bari, all lifelong musicians, have been pleasing audiences in the Carolinas since 2011.

Simon Thompson, local ornithologist and international bird guide, will lead a leisurely walk on the FENCE property. This guided walk is free and open to the public. FENCE welcomes everyone from first time birders to advanced birders to join Simon for his walk! Please meet at the FENCE center and remember to dress in comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring along binoculars and local bird guides if you have them.
