FENCE offers a free yoga series on Friday mornings held in the FENCE great room. The yoga classes are led by local instructor Rhonda Giles. All ages and yoga enthusiasts of all levels are welcome!

Free Family Concert with Blissing Trio Accapela Dec 10, 2017 from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM — FENCE Center,

Join us in celebrating the holiday season as the Blissing Trio performs Christmas music both sacred and secular. This concert is free and open to all ages. Following the performance refreshments will be served. Lynn Nichols, Eileen Douglas and Diane David are the women of Blissing, which is an acapella trio based in Hendersonville, NC. As experienced singers who have an ear for good vocal production, blend, and homespun humor, Blissing Trio covers a range of genres, including well-known standards from the 1930s to early 1970s. They weave their own arrangements into a harmonious thread of music in every piece they sing and often tell some jokes, stories or informative histories about some of the composers, lyricists or songs that we sing. They have a lot of fun at our shows and their audience does, too. This performance has been made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.

Kid's Nature Club Dec 12, 2017 from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM — FENCE Center,

The activities offered will be both fun and educational aimed to engage children between the ages of 5 and 12. The “Kids Nature Club” will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails.

Kids Nature Club Jan 09, 2018 from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM — FENCE Center,

This month's theme is our solar system! Kids will get a chance to explore our eight different planets, discover how we know what we know about these planets, and to create a set of solar system sun catchers. Kids Nature Club will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Activities are aimed for kids ages 5-12. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also to brave the cold and spend some time during their visit exploring the trails.

Winter Bird Hike Jan 10, 2018 from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM — FENCE Center,

Simon Thompson, local ornithologist, will lead a leisurely walk on the FENCE property. This guided walk is free and open to the community. FENCE welcomes everyone from first time birders to advanced birders to join Simon for his walk! This hike is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.

Walk in the Woods Feb 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM — FENCE Center,

Winter is a wonderful time to explore the woods at FENCE. Come enjoy a walk during this special time of year while discovering the amazing ways local animals and plants survive in the cold winter. Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. This guided walk is free and open to the public.
