Walk on the Wild Side with Carlton Burke

Carlton Burke will be visiting FENCE and leading a nature hike on the property. Meet at the FENCE nature center at 9am on Saturday, September 9th for a guided hike with local naturalist, Carlton Burke. He brings along much expertise about the natural world! This hike will focus on all things encountered along the way and is appropriate for all ages. Thank you to the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation for making programs like these possible.

Foothills Equestrian Nature Center offers another concert in their free family concert series with Freewheelin' Mamas. The concert will take place in the great room at FENCE and is offered free to the public. Following the performance refreshments will be served.

The activities offered will be both fun and educational aimed to engage children between the ages of 5 and 12. The “Kids Nature Club” will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails. This month’s theme is Insects. Kids will get a chance to investigate some insects and create an insect themed craft.

All ages and yoga enthusiasts of all levels are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring a water bottle to the class. Yoga mats will be available for use. These classes are made possible by the free community event grant at Polk County Community Foundation.

FENCE has a great schooling opportunity! Trainers are encouraged to come with you but not required! Are you looking to brush up on your skills riding a stadium jumper course or working on pacing your horse for a cross country event? Two stadium courses will be set up in the show rings and the Steeplechase track will be open with meter markers to help improve your skills and endurance. The cost is $25. Helmet and a negative coggins is required
