Winter Bird Hike with Simon Thompson
"Late winter in the Southern Foothills can be a very exciting as winter slowly slips north. The days slowly start to warm up and we may start to see a few flowers appearing in the still brown woodlands. Our winter birds are also slowly slipping north, but some will be now starting to sing and nothing is more beautiful on a winter day than the song of the Hermit Thrush.

Winter Wrens will be singing bursts of their energetic songs before heading north and the first Red-winged Blackbirds may already be back on territory in the FENCE wetlands.
Join us for the first in a series of 4 birdwalks on the FENCE property where we enjoy the birding as it changes throughout the year. This late winter walk will meet at the Trail Shelter at 9 AM - bring binoculars if you have them and be prepared for a 2 hour walk."
