The goal of this program is to engage young children in the joys and wonders of the outdoors. The benefits of outdoor exploration and play are remarkable for people of all ages but can really make a difference in the overall well-being of children. Time in nature can help to develop investigative skills, imagination, confidence, creativity, enhanced motor and sensory skills, and resiliency. In addition to enhancing the children’s quality of life, FENCE hopes to engage children in hands-on learning through play and inquiry in the outdoor environment. This mostly unstructured time in nature offers the chance to bond with the outdoor world creating a Nature Connection that hopefully becomes a lifelong relationship. Children will also have the chance to socialize and create connections with peers.

The program will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am-11am. Children must be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian) for the duration of the session. This program is offered to the community at no cost. Please register in advance for each session you plan to attend, come as often or as little as fits into your schedule. Attendees will receive more logistical information once they register.
