Local Naturalist Carlton Burke will be leading a hike through the trails at FENCE on the search for spring ephemerals and other wildflowers. Wear comfortable walking shoes and come dressed for the weather. No registration required. Meet at the FENCE Center.

This is a great time of year to see woodpeckers and sparrows. We’ll spend the morning exploring FENCE’s network of trails and should find plenty of these winter birds.
This program is free and open to the public. Please, dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes for walking, and bring along binoculars if you have them.

Winter Bird Walk

Join Kevin Burke of Carolina Nature Tours on Thursday, March 20th at 9 am for an easy and enjoyable morning bird walk exploring the fields and trails at FENCE. We should find plenty of year-round resident birds, lingering winter sparrows and newly arrived migrants like Tree Swallow and Blue-headed Vireo.
Birders of all levels are welcome. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring along binoculars if you have them.
