Needle Felting Class
Get artsy at FENCE with a needle felted “painting” class. Talented fiber artist, Irene Heckel, will lead the class in creating a beautiful felted painting from the pet picture of their choice. This class has limited space so please call FENCE to register. There is a $60 fee for this class-all supplies are included with the fee.

Wine and Paint with Joan MacIntyre
Wine and Paint Class featuring local artist, Joan MacIntyre. Known most commonly for her artwork of horses, Joan will be painting a portrait of the Famous Man o’ War. Joan will have one painting completed for the attendees to view but will also paint along with the class as she describes techniques and gives tips to complete their own painting. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as individuals who have more experience with painting. The class will use acrylic paint. All supplies are included in the $35 fee for the class. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Tina and Her Pony- Free Family Concert
Tina and Her Pony, local Indie Appalachian Folk Duo, will perform in the great room at FENCE for a Free, family concert. Refreshment will be served following the performance. This event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.

Animal tracks and tracking program with Steve O'Neil
Over the last two decades Steve has conducted several reptile, bat, bear, and vulture conservation, ecology, and environmental education & research projects studying the Eastern Box Turtle, Black Rat snake, Timber Rattlesnake, Black vulture, Black bear, and our native bats.

Go Fly a Kite
This long running event is always a family favorite in the community. Get outside and enjoy springtime at FENCE on this fun day. It’s always a great time flying kites up on Hawk’s ridge and enjoying the wonderful view of community members flying kites and having fun together. FENCE will provide kites to the first 200 children who arrive and there will be drinks and snacks for all who attend the event. This event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.

Spring Bird Walk with Aaron Steed
FENCE will offer the second of its seasonal, guided bird walks of the year. Join International Bird guide, Aaron Steed, as he ventures around the FENCE property in search of spring bird activity. This educational program is open and free to the public. FENCE welcomes everyone from first time birders to advanced birders to join in on this great program.

International Bird Guide, Aaron Steed to present an Armchair Traveler
A wonderful Armchair traveler presentation to be held in the great room. Aaron Steed, international traveler and bird guide, will recount his recent travels around Spain. For many, Spain brings to mind incredible food (especially 'tapas'), world-famous wine, and a fascinating history & culture. It is perhaps less widely known as a bird watching or eco-tourism destination, yet it has some of the best bird watching & natural areas in all of Europe. It is also home to the world's most endangered feline - the Iberian Lynx!

Volunteers needed for Spring trail clean up at FENCE
FENCE is having a trail workday. We will be working on a few small projects around the FENCE property. Some tools will be provided but if you have your own, feel free to bring those as well. We will meet at the FENCE center and head out to different sections of the FENCE trails from there. Participants may pick up some ideas as to how to maintain trails on their own properties. Remember to bring water, snacks, wear close-toed shoes, and long pants.

Family Concert with Kevin Williams
