Our instructor for the class is Nancy Basket. Nancy has coiled and woven vessels for 40 years since she helped start the first basketry guild in the US in modern times. She uses Pine Needles, Kudzu and other invasive species.
Moving South from Washington state in 1989, she has taught in public schools as an artist in education. Nancy makes 8 foot coiled sculptures depicting Cherokee stories, five foot chandeliers and miniatures as big as your thumb nail. Nancy’s 100 year old barn is retrofitted with kudzu bales and is her teaching workshop, where she makes her handmade paper from kudzu leaves in Walhalla, SC.
This class is $40 per person. Class space is limited, please call FENCE to register for this 3 hour class. Bring clippers.
