Invasive talk
We all love the climate in the Carolina foothills and unfortunately so do most of our most serious invasive plants. Plants such as Tree of Heaven, Kudzu, Oriental Bittersweet, Wisteria, and Miscanthus grass are all exotic or non-native plants that when left unchecked become serious weeds that are extremely difficult to control.

The featured speaker will be John Vining, retired County Extension Director for Polk County. The horticulturist will discuss how to identify these non-native plants and share a few tips about their control.
FENCE programs are open to the public free of charge thanks to the Kirby Endowment at Polk County Community Foundation.
