Kid's Nature Club

The activities offered this month will be both fun and educational aimed to engage children between the ages of 5 and 12. The “Kids Nature Club” will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to stay with their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails.
This month’s theme is Pollinators. Kids will learn about local pollinators, their role in the environment, and will create seed balls to take home.

Beginning this month, FENCE will have a “Kids Nature Club” once a month and will offer different themes monthly with accompanying activities for the kids. These activities will be both fun and educational aimed to engage children between the ages of 5 and 12. The “Kids Nature Club” will be offered free and open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis. Families are encouraged to bring their kids to FENCE to explore our five miles of trails and stop into FENCE to participate in our nature activities.
This month’s theme being Animal Tracks and Traces. Kids will learn about some of the animals that call the woods at FENCE home and the tracks and traces that will be left behind by these animals.

This month's theme is "For the Love of Birds..." We will be making bird feeders, learning about different types of bird seed, and checking out different bird nests.

Kids will get a chance to explore our eight different planets, discover how we know what we know about these planets, and to create a set of solar system sun catchers. Activities are aimed for kids ages 5-12. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for the “Kids Nature Club” but also to brave the cold and spend some time during their visit exploring the trails.

Kids will learn which organisms are decomposers, learn about their role in ecosystems, make a miniature wormery, and get a chance to check out the rest of FENCE's animals.
