Free Family Hike
Join Americorps member Amy Schmitte for a family friendly nature hike at FENCE. Meet at the trail shelter at 10am for a fun hike where we will learn about some of the plants and animals that call FENCE home. Our hike will last about 2 hours and will end with a fun nature scavenger hunt.

Free Monarch Butterfly Talk Walk
Local Monarch Watch Conservation Specialist, Joyce Pearsall, will visit FENCE to discuss Monarch Butterflies and their importance to the environment.

FREE Mushroom walk/talk with Charlotte Caplan
Join local mycologist, Charlotte Caplan for a mushroom hike on the FENCE property. This hike will begin at the main FENCE building. It is free and open to the public. Whether you are an experienced mushroom hunter or you are just interested in learning more about the mushroom world, this should be a fun and educational hike for all who attend! Following the hike Charlotte will lead an informal talk about mushrooms with time for Identifying mushrooms found on the hike and questions.

Free Wild For Life Presentation
Local wildlife rehabilitation center, Wild for Life, from Asheville, North Carolina will be visiting FENCE for a free family program. Wild for life is a non-profit organization specializing in the rehabilitation of native wildlife with the ultimate goal of releasing these animals back to their native habitats.

Free Yoga
FENCE will be offering a free yoga series on Friday mornings held in the FENCE great room. The yoga classes are lead by local instructor Rhonda Giles. All ages and yoga enthusiasts of all levels are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring a water bottle to the class. Yoga mats will be available for use. These classes are made possible by the free community event grant at Polk County Community Foundation.
