DESCRIPTION:Since 1947\, the TR&HC Block House Steeplechase Races have
  ushered in spring with elegant hats\, tailgating\, family reunions\, 
 and the sound & sight of thoroughbreds thundering past for a win. The 
 Block House is the longest running steeplechase in the state of North 
 Carolina and crowds of 18,000 to 20,000 annually attend the races.
