SUMMARY:WORKSHOP ON CONTROLLING INVASIVE PLAN
DESCRIPTION:Bittersweet\, privet\, kudzu and tree of heaven are all wo
rds you don't want to hear if you are a property owner in foothills of
the Carolinas. A hands-on workshop teaching folks how to attack these
noxious woody weeds. Plans include having the participants work on an
overgrown space on the FENCE property.\n\nAs strange as it may sound
many non-native woody plant species can be effectively controlled when
attacked while dormant. At the very least one does not have to conten
d with yellow jackets\, hornets or snakes\, when working before bud br
eak in late winter.\n\nRetired horticulturist John Vining will be disc
ussing how to identify the plants in winter and which plants are best
 suited for this dormant treatment.
