This month's theme is "Animals in the Winter..." Kids Nature Club is offered free and is open to the public and will be held on a drop in basis, so adults should plan to accompany their children while at FENCE. Families are encouraged to bring their kids by for Kids Nature Club but also spend some time during their visit exploring the trails. Ideal for children ages 5-12.

Nature Presentation with Jim Welch
Jim Welch, former host of the public television series NatureScene returns to FENCE on Saturday, November 2nd at 11am. Jim will share stories and experiences of his 20 year adventure in the natural areas of all 50 states and around the world. From close up encounters with bears, bison, elk, moose, and snakes to the quiet observations of birds and butterflies, the program should bring all a more intense appreciation of Nature. From the Blue Ridge of the Carolinas to the oldest and deepest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Baikal in Siberia, the adventures should impart a greater appreciation of our natural world and all that is in it.

FENCE will host an information meeting on the North Carolina Forest Service Prescribed Burning Program at the FENCE Center. This event is open to everyone.

Needle felted "Painting" Class
Back by popular demand, Irene Heckel will teach a needle felted "painting" class. Create a close to the heart piece of artwork. Irene will teach the skills and techniques to create a lovely felted painting of your pet.
