TROT receives a generous donation from FRC
It was with great pleasure Allison Rhyne accepted a $500 donation from FRC - Foothills Riding Club for the TROT program at FENCE. We would like to thank FRC for their generosity! The Therapeutic Riding of Tryon program has been successfully running for 13 years. As a Premier Accredited Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, TROT follows the strict standards set by PATH Intl. for safety and effective teaching. Volunteers are the heart and soul of TROT. They help students groom and saddle their horses; assist and support the student as side walkers and leaders during each lesson; and assist in barn duties. This fall TROT expanded the program to Polk County High School. The exceptional children classroom came out once a week for a TROT lesson.

Useful Plant Walk
Meet at the FENCE center for a guided walk with naturalist/survivalist Benjamin ‘Raven’ Pressley. Spring is full of opportunities to observe nature, enjoy the sunshine and birds singing ….and to eat weeds! What? Did you say eat weeds? Yep! A lot of those weeds you curse for growing in your yard can be used for food and medicine.
