Join international bird guide Aaron Steed as he recounts a past visit, sharing photos of birds, wildlife, and landscapes, as well as thoughts on Cuba's culture and it's complicated relationship with the US.

Needle felted- pet painting
Talented needle felting artist, Irene Heckel will teach a Needle Felted painting class at FENCE on Sunday, March 1st from 10am-2pm. This needle felted painting class involves using fibers to create a “painting” of a pet photo pre-selected by the student.

Forage Analysis & Nutrition seminar-Postponed
Polk County Area Livestock Extension Agent, Noah Henson, will present “All About Hay.” Noah will discuss the various types of hay and their nutrition, sugar levels, forage analysis and sampling - including core analysis and determining moisture levels, and the impact of best cutting practices. Noah graduated from N.C. State with a degree in Agriculture Science and is working towards his Master’s Degree in Reproductive Physiology. Noah lives on a working farm in Haywood County where he runs cattle, sheep, goats, and makes hay.

Cancelled: Trail Systems Seminar
Come and hear experienced riders share information about our many local equestrian trail systems. Learn about the trails of the Foothills Equestrian Trails Association (FETA), the Collinsville Equestrian Trail Association (CETA), DuPont State Forest, Tsali Recreation Area, the Biltmore Estate, Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, Cataloochee Horse Camp, and Pisgah National Forest. Foothills Riding Club educational seminars take place from 7-8 PM in the FENCE great room. Seminars are free to all but a $5 suggested donation is encouraged of non-members. Evening donations will benefit Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE).

Bret Moore of Blue Ridge Hoofcare “On the Right Track” seminar
How to design, build, and implement a Paddock Paradise track system. Bret will discuss the many benefits of incorporating a track system - both for the health of the horse and for the benefit of your pastures. Bret has nineteen years experience as a professional farrier with a practice emphasis on transitioning horses to a barefoot lifestyle and specialized expertise in rehabilitating and preventing pasture laminitis. Foothills Riding Club educational seminars take place from 7-8 PM in the FENCE great room. Seminars are free to all but a $5 suggested donation is encouraged of non-members. Evening donations will benefit Helping Equines Regain Dignity (HERD).
